Why Baypointe?

Before examining all the logistics and strategies surrounding this church plant, it is important to have an answer to this question. Very simply put, it's a God thing. No fancy explanation, no "this is the best option I have" excuse, no it's trendy to be a "church planter." The simple and best answer is that I believe with everything I have inside me that the next step on my faith journey is to plant Baypointe Church. I have been to Panama City Beach, studied it, examined it, and tested it, but these are not the main reasons. I struggled with whether or not this was a true God thing. At 4:30 one morning I was wide awake when I felt God telling me to get up, get dressed, and drive to Panama City Beach. I did just that, and as I crossed over the bridge into Panama City Beach, something inside of me got excited. My heart began to race, and I knew that I knew this was the place God wanted me. God has placed something in me that I can't let go of, and to be quite honest, I don't want to. I have a large vision from God for Baypointe Church and know that God will make it a reality.

So why Baypointe, and why now? God has placed a desire in us to make Baypointe a place for those who are tired of church in its present state. We know and understand that for many, church has become a place that represents past hurts, harsh judgments, unrealistic requirements, and irrelevant teachings. Baypointe is NOT that church. Baypointe is a place for families to grow strong, for the unchurched to find a place of hope and relevance, and for the believer to deepen their relationship with Christ. We will accomplish this though authentic living, passionate worship, and personal relationships that grow and challenge us. We will be a simple church with a simple mandate: encourage the hopeless, unite people, and bring to maturity those who recklessly follow Jesus.
